Frontier Expo: 2017

On the 7th October 2017 Frontier will be holding the Frontier Expo 2017 at Here East, in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. As the website states,

The development of Elite Dangerous continues full throttle and we’re delighted to share with you news on what’s coming beyond 2.4 The Return.

On our Main Stage, we will be talking about exciting future developments of our major space simulation title, Elite Dangerous.

Elite Dangerous has continued to grow since it’s initial launch. With new content and new console Commanders making their way to the galaxy, Elite has never been a more thriving hub than it is today.

With our passionate and incredibly involved community at the centre of development, Elite Dangerous continues to evolve further, and we want to share with you what that future holds.

With core game play improvements planned, we know you’re eager to hear more about the year 3304 in Elite Dangerous.

Be sure to join this talk led by well-known developers and have all your questions answered.

Please note That seating is limited (front row section seating will be reserved for Founder’s Ticket holders), and standing space will be available in accordance with fire regulations. Make sure you are there ahead of time if you want to secure your place at the talks.

You can see the schedule, here. As you can see there’s plenty of other stuff going on with a reveal of Frontier’s as yet unannounced new project as well as Planet Coaster related malarkey.

Tickets are going on sale on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 12PM BST with an early bird discount running until Monday, July 31, 2017 – there’s limited availability on each ticket type, so make sure you grab yours as soon as possible! As you can see, there will be loads of goodies and special events going on for you to enjoy.

2.4 & Beyond….

Thargoids aside, things are pretty quiet over at Frontier Towers on any future content. Hopefully this will change fairly soon as Frontier have recently confirmed that they will not have a presence at gamescom2017 as they are going to,

“…focus on another very special event which we’ll be announcing soon.”

This is presumably in reference to the post made on the 24th May when it was said,

“We’re happy to be able to confirm that the next major updates following 2.4 will focus on core gameplay, existing features, quality of life and other improvements! We’re delighted to be investing a considerable amount of development and effort into making the core gameplay experience even better for our fantastic community or players.

“We’ll be sharing more news on that content and our road map at a very special event coming later in the year – more details on this event will be released in the weeks after E3.”

So until then don’t expect much news! However, if you are in Cologne Frontier are doing a special community meet:

If you…
– Are available on the evening of August 24, 2017 (Thursday)
– And can make it to our venue in Cologne, Germany
… then you are hereby invited to our Frontier Community Meet! We do have a limited capacity, so it’s first come, first served basis.

All you have to do is sign up to request your tickets via this Google Form, and wait for the community team to respond confirming your reserved tickets, which will disclose further information about the event (this will take a few days, so do not worry if you don’t hear from us within an hour!). The tickets will be free but please note the entry is only available to Commanders aged 18+. You can reserve up to two tickets per person. Should you need more tickets or have any questions, please email us directly at community@frontier.co.uk with the email subject “Frontier Community Meet gamescom 2017”.
